The heavy downpour recorded by the Capital city of Telangana, Hyderabad on Saturday had resulted in a sad incident with a man incidentally falling into a manhole that was opened to clear the waste in it by the officials.

The incident of a man falling into a drain came to the limelight after the video captured by a local resident was out. The civic body of Hyderabad, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) had swung into action and called for a rescue operation to look out for the missing man.

The shocking incident took place in Hyderabad's Manikonda area near the Golden temple. After opening the drain for the drainage works, the officials have put a small signboard at the open drain. Sadly the signboard was washed away due to the heavy rains.

Unable to identify the open drain, a person had fallen into the drain and went missing. The National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) personnel are also looking for the missing man. The locals are hoping that the personnel will trace the missing person.

The India Meteorological Department(IMD) said Hyderabad recorded a rainfall of 100 mm while a few areas like Manikonda saw the highest level with around 108 mm of rain.
