The incident is said to have taken place at midnight on Wednesday, while the victim and her husband were returning to Sathenapalli from a wedding at Paalapaadu. While they were on their route, they were stopped by a group of men. The husband was trashed by the accused and later taken to another place. Later, the victim was taken to the nearby farmlands.

However, a few media reports said that the complaint lodged by the couple was not entertained by the Sathenapalli Police Station saying that the incident won't fall under the limits of their station. However, the district DSP said that those reports are trash and they have responded to the complaint and the info on the issue was collected.

With no option left, the couple moved the Medikonduru police station and lodged a complaint in this regard.
