Playing up to the expectations the England team led by Jos Buttler produced a match-winning performance and lifted the T20 World Cup. Even the top bowling attack of Pakistan could not stop the English team from winning the tournament. The England team shined in Bowling and batting and lifted the mighty trophy.
Fans of the Pakistan team hoped that the Men In Green would repeat the 1992 scene and win the match. But the Jos Buttler-led England team had other plans. First, they redacted the Pakistan team for a low score and the English bowlers need a special mention here.
Sam Curran breathed fire on the field and picked three wickets for just 12 runs in his spell. Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan complimented him with two wickets each. Winning the toss Jos Buttler asked Pakistan to bat first and the bowlers proved his call correct.
Jos Buttler and Alex Hales showed their intent and started hitting runs. Despite losing early wickets England held its nerves and won the trophy. All-rounder Ben Stokes hit the winning runs and took his team to victory helping England win the second T20 trophy. He scored a half-century and even took a wicket.
Despite having no fighting total the Pakistan bowlers gave their best and took the match to the end. They managed to take five wickets and take the match to the last over. Only a few bowling attacks can do that.
