Modi-Shah Trying To Divide KCR, Jagan?

Is Narendra Modi - Amit Shah combine trying to drive a wedge between the chief ministers of the two Telugu states? Is this the reason why Modi met AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy twice during the last fortnight, while he had no time for giving an appointment to Telangana chief minister KCR? Political pundits say that together, the two Telugu CMs have as many as 31 MPs with them. They can play a key role in the Rajya Sabha. Together, they can even dictate a few terms to the Government in return for the support in Rajya Sabha.

The BJP does not want the two Telugu regional parties - the TRS and the YSRCP - to emerge as a powerful block. So, They want to divide them, political watchers say. Also, the BJP has not forgotten the 'Hindu Bondu' and other comments made by KCR during the campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections. So, the BJP wants to teach a lesson to the TRS. It wants to grow as a powerful alternative to the TRS and wants to present itself as a party that can take on the TRS. At the same time, it does not want to alienate YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who has a bull-dozer majority in the state assembly.

A stung TRS gave the Niti Ayog meeting a miss. No one from the state government made it to the key meeting to represent Telangnama. Will this further deteriorate the relations between the TRS and the BJP? Is Chandrasekhara Rao walking into the same trap that his former counterpart Chandrababu Naidu walked into and ended up as a zero?
