The winners of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2020 got a special gift from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself as he decided to meet the winners at his residence.

The Bal Shakti Puraskar will be awarded to the children for their special contribution in various fields like Social Service, innovation, Bravery, Sports, Art and Culture and Scholastic. Apart from the award, the awardees will be presented a medal, certificate along with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

Modi had an interaction with them and answered the questions of the winners.

Talking about his secret for his 'radiance', Narendra Modi said, "Someone asked me many years ago, how come you have such a radiant face? I had a simple answer. I said I work hard and I sweat so much that I massage my face with it and it gives me a glow ".

"When I was getting introduced to you a while back, I was really surprised. The way you all have tried in different fields, the work that has been done at such a young age... is amazing," Mr. Modi maintained.

"Whenever I hear about such courageous work of all you young comrades, talk to you, I also get inspiration and energy," he added.

Modi also advised the winners to stay active physically and to work hard and serve the society and Nation.

This year 49 children were given the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar awards while Drash Malani who is 12 years old has performed more than 50 magic shows across the world and Manoj Kumar Lohar was awarded for his mastery in 'tabla vadan'.

In this interaction, Modi spoke about various aspects like wisdom, success, inspiration, awards, and honours

Making a special mention about the Hard Wok, Mr. Modi opined that: 'There are two paths to take. In one, when people win awards and honours, they become arrogant and stop performing. In the other, some people accept awards as encouragement to do even better… Awards are not the end-all. In a way, they are the start of your lives.'
