TDP MLA Modugula Venugopal Reddy joined YSR Congress Party ahead of the 2019 Polls. YSR Congress Leadership offered him Guntur MP Ticket.
Modugula took potshots at TDP MP Candidate - 'Galla Jaydev has come again to cheat people as elections arrived. He is just a Guest MP. Had he bothered to address people's issues in the past 5 years? I will defeat Galla Jaydev in Guntur for sure. I'm contesting only to defeat him. Jaydev should release a White Paper to reveal how many times had he visited Guntur in the past five years. Galla isn't even aware of the names of Mandals in his parliament segment. For him, MP Seat is like an ornament. For Me, It's like a weapon. We will bring Special Category Status using the MP Seats. People wish to see YS Jaganmohan Reddy as the Chief Minister of AP'.
