More young leaders to follow Jitin Prasada?

Though the Congress is putting on a brave front, it is rattled by young leader Jitin Prasada's joining in the BJP. Jitin Prasada is the young Brahmin face of the party in UP, which is going to polls early next year. The resignation of this Brahmin leader has jolted them as brahmins are an important political force in UP.

At a time when Rahul Gandhi is trying to cobble up a team of youths, Jitin Prasada's quitting is definitely being seen as a setback. Jitin is among the G 23, who demanded internal democracy in the party. He is the third young leader to leave the Congress after Himantha Biswa Sarma and Jyotiraditya Scindia. Congress circles feel that this may not be the last incident of young leaders leaving the party.

There are reports that young Milind Deora, who headed the Mumbai unit of the party and Sanjay Dutt's sister Priya Dutt, who is a two-time Congress MP, are also planning to leave the Congress Party in Maharashtra. In fact, Milind Deora tweeted on Wednesday to congratulate Vijay Rupani for his business friendly measures during the times of Corona. This is being seen as an indication that he is all set to join the BJP.

All eyes are now on Rajasthan's young Congress leader Sachin Pilot. He has given an ultimatum to the party to address his grievances. He had rebelled in the past and is indicating that he would leave the party if his concerns were not addressed.
