Mountaineering Turns Tragic, 28 Mountaineers Breathe Their Last!

Northern State Uttarakhand is home to many beautiful locations and popular Hindu temples. However, the state mostly hit the headlines due to floods and landslides in the region. Yet again, the state hit the headline for an unfortunate incident and it is said that over 20 people lost their lives.



Going into details, the mountaineering session of a few trainee mountaineers turns tragic with as many as 28 mountaineers breathing their last, as per the media reports. It has been widely reported that the snow-filled landslide is the reason behind the disaster.

As per the information, the NDRF and SDRF personnel were called for the rescue operations. Coordinating with each other, the rescue teams reached the spot. Helicopters were used for the rescue operations.

Going into details, the trainees at Nehru Institute of Mountaineering went to mountaineering at the Draupadi Ka Danda - II peak in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district. However, as many as 28 mountaineers breathed their last after a landslide.

The state government and the union government expressed shock over the tragic incident and condoled the death. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh urged the state government to give their best in the rescue operations.
