NDAs Headache: Small Parties And Big Fights
X
Bihar politics is getting increasingly murkier. Though the NDA front appears quite strong on paper, it is finding itself on a sticky wicket. The partner parties are at loggerheads with one another. While BJP and JDU seem to have come to an understanding on seat sharing, there are a host of problems with regard to smaller parties like the Lok Jan Shakthi Party and Hindustani Awam Morcha of Jeetan Ram Manjhi.

LJP, which is averse to the entry of HAM into the NDA is creating hurdles over seat-sharing. The LJP is demanding a bigger share of seats and is in fact asking for seat sharing on 50:50 basis. It has written a strongly worded letter to BJP national chief JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding that it be given more tickets. It also served an ultimatum to the NDA saying that it would walk out on the NDa at both the Centre as well as the state if its demands were not met.

LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan's son Chirag Paswan, who is handling the seat-sharing exercise is also unhappy over giving seats to HAM. He said that his party is the real representative of the Dalits in the state. As of now, both the BJP and the JDU are trying to bring the LJP around.
