Nagarjunasagar assembly constituency has suddenly become a very prestigious seat for the TRS. After two back-to-back defeats in Dubbak and the GHMC, the ruling TRS has taken up Nagarjunasagar as a prestigious issue. It wants to win the seat at any cost to arrest the building up of an anti-incumbency wave in the state.
So, the TRS leadership has decided to take up long pending projects and is trying to complete them as fast as it can. For instance, the Lift Irrigation Schemes such as Kondaprole LIS in Keshavapuram, Nellikal LIS on Nagarjunasagar foreshore, Vadapalli LIS and the pipeline works of the AMRC LIS. All these projects have been pending for quite a long time. Now administrative sanctions have been issued for these projects and the work would be taken up at the earliest.
Nagarjunasagar never had a government degree college. Those wanting to study in a government college had to go to Nalgonda or Miryalguda. The students from the poor economic background used to drop out from the education due to this. Now the TRS government is taking steps to speed up the work. The government has announced the setting up of a degree college in Haliya. KCR has directed the officials to expedite the works.
