Why Is Bureaucracy Shivering In Its Pants?

Modi Government seems to be very particular about rooting out corruption from the bureaucracy. It has already retired 64 tax department officials on charges of corruption. There are commissioner rank officials in the list. The latest buzz is that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked various government departments to examine and review the confidential reports of all the employees, especially those facing charges of corruption. A procedure to identify corrupt officials and compulsorily retire them has been developed. This list is includes even IAS officials.
This has sent shivers down the spine of the corrupt babus. They are worried that agencies like the CBI, NIA and the ED are now identifying the corrupt officials. Many officials are now running from pillar to post to get their names removed from the list.
