Modi Miles Ahead Of Rahul Gandhi In Approval Ratings
X
Had this been a presidential election, Narendra Modi would have won hands down. A vast majority of Indian voters feel that Modi is the best Prime Ministerial choice. His rival Rahul Gandhi is far too behind in the race. If the latest survey of C-Voter-IANS is to be believed, then Modi is at least 35 percentage points ahead of Rahul Gandhi. The survey, conducted on April 20, tracks the mood of the nation as the country is going through the seven-phase general elections.

The survey shows that Modi has 56.43 percentage points of approval ratings, while Rahul Gandhi is a poor second with just 22 per cent votes. Interestingly, the approval ratings of Rahul Gandhi have not gone up even by one percentage point. On the other hand, Modi did extremely well even before the Pulwama incident and the aerial strikes. The strikes only added to Modi's popularity. Now, there is no looking back for Modi. The C Voter-IANS survey had a sample of 11,838 respondents and was done on April 20. So, this is the latest survey available. Most significant issue here is that Rahul’s approval ratings have actually fallen from 26.04 per cent in January to the present rating of 22 per cent. Now that three phases are already over, there are no further signs of improvement for him.
