It is known that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in the United States on a three-day visit as he is scheduled to meet key leaders of a few nations during his stay in the superpower nation. Narendra Modi met United States President Joe Biden at the White House on Friday.

The meeting between the duo marks the first meeting between them after Joe Biden took over the President's post. As Joe Biden was elected to power in 2020 during the second wave, Narendra Modi did not visit him personally. But he spoke to Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and congratulated them.

During the meeting, Joe Biden and Narendra Modi spoke highly about celebrated Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi. The United States President showered praises on Gandhiji and said the message given by him on non-violence and tolerance are relatable today.

As a reply, Narendra Modi said that Joe Biden spoke about celebrating Gandhiji Jayanti in the United States. He added that the trusteeship proposed by Gandhiji is the need of the hour for us in the coming days too. I am thanking Joe Biden for discussing the ideas that are vital to strengthening the India-us.

The Indian Prime Minister went on to say that the talent and the links between the people are the key factors in shaping the decade and technology is the driving force for the world. In the coming decade, the trade ties between India and the United States, he said.

With the two leaders of the nations coming together for their first bilateral meeting with each other, crucial issues and aspects that hold the ties and friendship between India and the United States were discussed in the meeting reportedly.

Media reports say that the common issues like beating the Covid, handing the vaccine doses, climate change, global issues, Indo-Pacific region, and the threat posed by China, Afghanistan, and others were said to have been discussed.

As per the schedule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the UN General Assembly (UNGA) meeting at 6: 30 PM today. For this, he had reached New York city in the United States.
