New Districts in AP only After March 2021

AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's promise of carving 25 districts out of the present 13 districts may be fulfilled only next year. This is a promise that Jagan Mohan Reddy gave during the elections. He has sad that every Lok Sabha constituency would be made into a district.
However, in view of the House Listing Operations that would be taken up across the country, the Centre has asked the State Governments not to make any jurisdictional changes from January , 1, 2020. As a result, the carving out of the new districts could be taken up only after March 31, 2021, when the National Population Register, as part of the Census operations, ends. The constituency delimitation too would be taken up only after the first census of 2026, which means it can be brought into force only for the 2029 elections.
In his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy had also promised to name some districts after some prominent leaders and freedom fighters. He promised to name Gudivada region after N.T. Rama Rao.
