Looks like the convicts in the Nirbhaya case will not leave any stone unturned to get a stay on the death sentence. After using all the legal remedies and even the mercy petition they have moved the International Court of Justice(ICJ) and now they have knocked the doors of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to seek a stay on the death sentence.

Advocate AP Singh who is representing the convicts in the case appealed to the NHRC on behalf of Mukesh, one of the convicts, his mother to seek a stay on the death warrant which was scheduled on March 20.

In the petition, they have claimed that Mukesh's brother and another prime accused in the case Ram Singh was reportedly killed in the prison, and now he has a 70-year old mother and a 10-year-old son.

"The probe into the alleged suicide was biased. Yet the state government has not given any compensation to the family of the deceased. Mukesh is the only witness to the incident. If he is executed in a hurry, it will be a miscarriage of justice and a violation of the human rights," Advocate Singh said.
