No End For Private Hospitals Exploitation In The Name Of Covid Treatment

The public fears the hospital charges for the pandemic treatment than the fear of getting infected with the novel Coronavirus. Private hospitals are charging a bomb for the treatment.
One such shocking incident surfaced in Hyderabad. A private hospital in the city asked the family members of the Corona patient to pay the balance amount to release the body.
Going into detail, a patient named Vijayender Reddy who has been undergoing treatment at Kondapur KIMS for the pandemic breathed his last. Even after paying Rs 2.5 lakh for the treatment, the hospital authorities demanded to pay the remaining 3 lakhs to hand over the body, reports claimed.
The family members and relatives of the deceased are staging protests outside the hospital to hand over the body.
However, these sorts of incidents are not new in the city. Earlier, one such came to the notice of the Telangana Minister of MA&UD, Industries, and IT&C KTR. He asked Health Minister Etela Rajender to look into the issue.
KTR warned that strict action will be taken against the hospitals, which exploit the patients in the name of treatment and called charging hefty amounts during the tough times shameful.
