No More Suspense: Marri Shashidhar Reddy Quits T-Congress!
X
The grand old party Congress which granted the Telangana state and once ruled the combined state is now struggling to find a step in divided Telangana. The Congress party could not bank on the credit of giving the state. After the state formation, the party has been becoming weaker day by day.

Making the party even weaker, the party leaders are leaving the party. We have seen how Munugode MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy stepped down as the legislator paving way for the intense by-election. The Congress party could not even get a third place as it failed to get even the deposits.

Now another key leader left the party. Former Minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy left the party. He said that he has written to Sonia Gandhi about leaving the party. His decision was not surprising as he has been hinting at leaving the party and joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.

For the past few days reports have been hinting that Marri Shashidhar Reddy might leave the grand old party. Though he refused the reports initially, he started dropping hints at preferring the saffron party over his party.

A few days back, Shashidhar Reddy met Union Home Minister Amit Shah which raised many eyeballs. As if it was not enough the former Minister criticized the serving TPCC chief Revanth Reddy on the way the party is doing in Telangana.

After he targeted Revanth Reddy, the Congress leadership slapped him with an expulsion notice for violating the disciplinary rules of the party. With the Congress party serving him the notice, Shashidhar Reddy ended the suspense and left the party. He also said that he would join the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Giving a reason for leaving the party, he said that he is not happy with the way the party is going on in the state. The ex-Minister expressed shock over the inability of the Congress party to serve as the principal opposition party in the state. Reddy lashed out at Revanth Reddy as the party has not won a single election after he became the TPCC President.

Marri Shashidhar Reddy is one of the tallest leaders in the state. His father Marri Chenna Reddy earlier served as the Chief Minister of the combined Andhra Pradesh. Shashidhar Reddy started his political career as MLA and became Minister in combined Andhra Pradesh.
