Know what is the biggest challenge for Eatala Rajender in Huzurabad? Not the TRS and the might of KCR. Not even Kaushik Reddy, who has left Congress to join the TRS. His biggest challenge is to get the fact that his election symbol this time is different. Instead of car, it is kamal.
Eatala is hugely popular in Huzurabad. He has won for not one or two but for six times. He has his deep connections in every hamlet and knows people by their first names. He has never tasted defeat so far and has relations in many villages. So, beating him in Huzurabad is a tall order for any rival, including the ruling TRS. That explains why the TRS is trying to implement ambitious schemes such as Dalit Bandhu and sheep rearing in Huzurabad.
Eatala himself has embarked on a padayatra in Huzurabad. He is covering every nook and corner in the constituency and the people's response has been very encouraging. There is instant recognition for Eatala in Huzurabad. But, when he is interacting with the people of the constituency, he is finding that while they are assuring him that they would vote for him, they are saying that they will definitely vote for the car symbol. This is unnerving Eatala.
Till recently, car was his symbol. With his joining the BJP, the symbol now is Lotus. However, this has not got registered with the voters. Hence, Eatala is making an extra effort to impress upon them that his symbol now is Lotus. Eatala is apprehensive that even if a small fraction of the voters vote for car instead of Lotus, he might end up losing the election. So, he is now trying to popularize his new party symbol in a big way to ensure that there are no hiccups in his poll campaign.
