Though it was not found what variant of Covid, the lady came in contact with, the fresh infection had grabbed a lot of attention due to the time it was detected. The genome sequencing results are awaited and the report will give more clarity.

Given the fact that the lady came from the United Kingdom that is going through a tough period with the new variant, there are doubts about her catching the new variant. Though nothing was confirmed as of now, the authorities are cautioning everyone to be more careful.

Public Health and Family Welfare Director of Telangana Srinivas Rao who held a press meet today had warned that there is a chance for the new variant to enter the state. If the public won't follow the guidelines, then there are high chances for the variant to make it to the state, he said.

The lady who was tested positive for Covid was shifted to the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS). Currently, she is at the special isolation ward. We cannot take any chances with the variant. By taking the vaccine doses, we can reduce the possibility of catching Covid. Everyone should follow the guidelines, the director said.

Amid the Omicron scare, the states went into alert mode and have been carefully monitoring the passengers coming from the other nations. The fresh infection was found out as part of the mandatory Covid tests. In total, as many as 325 passengers reached Hyderabad, while a lady coming from the United Kingdom tested Covid positive.

Talking about the fresh Coronavirus, a 35-year-old woman who landed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Telangana capital Hyderabad had tested positive for Coronavirus positive. It has been widely reported that the lady's health condition is ok now and she didn't develop any symptoms.

In development to worry about, the Omicron variant had made it into the country already. Two infections of the new variant were detected already. Shockingly, both infections were from Karnataka. The Union Health Ministry said two infections were detected. More details are awaited.
