Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Solar Power project at Rewa of Madhya Pradesh through video conference. The Power project which has a power of 750 Mega Watts(MW) is the largest Solar project in Asia.

It is believed that the solar project aims at reducing the emission of carbon dioxide by around 15 lakh tonnes every year.

PM Modi in the video conference dedicated the solar project to the nation and said Solar energy will emerge as a medium for the energy needs in the 21st century and termed the energy as pure.

Apart from PM Modi, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Governor Anandiben Patel, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan and others were also present at the solar plant virtual inauguration.

Talking at the video conference, PM Modi said, the work to start solar power plants in Shajapur, Neemuch, and Chhatarpur areas apart from Rewa are underway.

The Rewa Solar Project will be supplying power to Delhi Metro Station and Madhya Pradesh subsequently.
