The ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 event is proving to be one of the memorable sports events for India as Indian athletes are making the country proud on the international stage by winning medals. Across the games, the athletes are winning medals. As of yesterday, India won three golds as boxer Nikhat Zareen had a golden punch in the finals.

Now India has as many as four gold medals in the ongoing Commonwealth games as veteran badminton player PV Sindhu bagged a gold. In the women's singles final, PV Sindhu crushed Canada's Michelle Li with 21-15 and 21-13. PV Sindhu did not give a chance to Michelle Li to have an upper hand in the finals.

The gold medal PV Sindhu won in the prestigious commonwealth Games marks the first singles gold for the veteran player from India. Sindhu's gold takes India to fourth place in the medals tally in the ongoing tournament. As of now, India has as many as 19 gold medals.

PV Sindhu is getting better and better with each passing event. The ace badminton player has won two golds as of now, including the present gold she won at the Commonwealth Games. In the Commonwealth Games, PV Sindhu is making her record better. In the 2014 edition, PV Sindhu bagged a Bronze and she ended the 2018 edition of the event with a silver. In 2022, PV Sindhu bagged gold and the gold marks the first gold in the badminton sport this year.

The sports lovers had a good day today as world-class players PV Sindhu and Michelle Li fought each other aggressively. The way they brought the best out of them in the big event made the finals an edge-of-the-seat corner.

PV Sindhu and Michelle Li who stood at the 7th and 13th positions in the world rankings did not lose their concentration on the game. Making it a tough war, both players did not give up. But PV Sindhu got an upper hand by winning both sets with a good margin. Compared to the first set, PV Sindhu completely dominated her Canadian opponent in the second set.
