In Andhra Pradesh, it's a complete one-man show. It's Jagan and Jagan all the way. Neither the ministers, nor the MLAs and MPs are getting any kind of publicity. It's Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who is getting all the publicity. Hence, the strange situation in AP is that the people at large are very happy with the YSRCP government, but the YSRCP MPs and MLAs themselves are deeply unhappy.
Jagan's political masterstroke of appointing village volunteers in every village of the state has ensured the proper delivery of all the welfare schemes. Pensions, emoluments, money from various schemes are being given to the beneficiaries. But, at the same time, this has left the MLAs and MPs with practically nothing to do. They cannot even recommend the names of the people for various schemes. The village volunteers do that work. The credit for all these schemes is going directly into the account of YS Jagan. The people know the name of only YS Jagan and no one else. This is causing deep dissatisfaction among the MLAs and MPs. Some elected people's representatives have openly voiced their dissatisfaction, while most others are keeping it to themselves.
To add to the woes of the MLAs and MPs, the Corona pandemic has left them completely immobilized. They are unable to meet the people and register their presence. Secondly, there is no fund release during this period, practically leaving them with no resources whatsoever.
