Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal who addressed the virtual valedictory session of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry(FICCI) said the OTT platform needs some regulations.
Piyush Goyal said Indian content has the potential and talent to make it to the global level and at the same time found some piece of content appearing on the OTT platforms as objectionable.
He went on to say that not all the time, but sometimes the content seems to be objectionable and provides misinformation and the society and country is shown poorly in the content that makes it unworthy of not watching it with the family.
If the new regulations come into action, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, aka RGV will be facing a huge jolt as the director is the very first director to cash on the OTT platforms.
Be it Naked, Climax, and other projects. Similar to the subscription to the OTT platforms, RGV came up with his streaming app and he fixed Rs 100 to watch the film.
It has been widely reported that through the streaming app, RGV earned more than once crore which is very high when compared to the budget allocated to complete the project.
