The viruses are ringing danger bells in the world. We have seen what happened with the Covid outbreak. For more than two years the world nations went through the biggest crisis. Everything around us came to a standstill and lakhs of people passed away with the virus across the globe. Millions of people were infected with the virus.

A couple of days back, a new virus was found in Africa that kills infected people in just 24 hours. The unidentified virus is making people fear the outcome as people who come in contact with the virus develop high fever and blood comes out of their noses.

Now we have to worry about another virus as Plant Fungus enters the world. The experts say that this is the first time a plant fungus infected a person. This is said to be the first incident in the world. What’s even more shocking is that the first case was reported from India.

People got to know about the first case after the doctors who examined the infected person wrote about it in a medical journal. The victim is said to be a 61-year-old man. He has been suffering from the symptoms for the past three weeks and when he consulted the doctors they got to know about this. This happened in Kolkata.

The person is a plant mycologist and he gets to work on various plants and mushrooms and fungi as part of his profession. The doctors believe that with that he might have gotten in touch with the fungus. For the first time, a person was infected by a plant fungus.

The fungus called Chondrostereum purpureum infects plants and causes silver leaf disease. The fungus is very crucial for many plants for its existence. But there is no clarity on what impact the fungus creates on humans. This is the first time a human was infected and hence there is no key data on this.

The doctors got to know about the fungus after X-ray and CT scans were performed on the patient. The CT Scan found a paratracheal abscess in his neck. This causes issues while taking a breath and that is the reason why the patient has been facing issues in swallowing.
