The controversy surrounding over Pope Francis liking the photo of a Brazilian bikini model from his official Instagram account is getting bigger and bigger with each day passing.
The Vatican has sought an explanation from the social networking service on how the like on the model's post on the video-sharing app came from Pope Francis's account.
On top of that, the Vatican has also started a probe into the controversy to know how come the verified account of Pope Francis has liked the picture of the Brazilian model.
Going into detail, digital media company Barstool Sports took to Instagram and shared an under-dressed picture of 27-year-old bikini model Natalia Garibotto on October 5.
The picture which features the bikini model gained more than 1.5 likes including from Pope Francis's verified account. The screenshots of Pope liking the picture left the netizens in splits.
After getting to know that her pic received a like from Pope Francis's verified account, the bikini model made a tweet: At least I'm going to heaven.
On the other hand, reports climbed that, Pope Francis's verified Instagram is not handled by him, but by a team of staff members. The investigation is underway and more details are awaited.
