India continues to face the wrath of the spread of the dreaded virus as India reported more than 6,500 fresh cases of the virus in the past 24 hours which takes the toll of the total cases in India to 145,380.

India witnessed more than 6,500 for the fourth consecutive day which raises many fears and concerns about the spread of the virus. India entered the list of the top ten worst-affected nations in the world and also bagged the fourth spot in terms of reported fresh cases.

In the past 24 hours, 146 breathe their last breath battling the dreaded virus taking the toll of the total lives claimed in the country to 4,167. To date, 60,490 recovered from the virus, and the active cases in India reached 80,722.

Out of the 6,500 fresh cases reported in India, Maharashtra witnessed the lion share of cases with 2,436 and the total cases in the state reached 52,667 which is around one-third of the total cases.

Telangana reported 66 fresh cases of the virus in the past 24 hours and the toll of the total cases reached 1,920. As of now, 1,164 people managed to recover from the virus, while the active cases reached 700 who were being treated for the virus.

On the other hand, the total toll of the cases in Andhra Pradesh reached 2,886 with 89 fresh cases reported in the state in the past 24 hours. To date, 56 people succumbed to the virus.

Talking about the worldwide scenario the total toll of the positive cases if the virus stood at 5,587,129 which is inching towards the 5.6 Million -mark, while 347,861 lives were claimed so far globally.
