The pandemic continues to trouble India as 7,466 fresh cases of the virus were reported in the past 24 hours. This is the biggest surge of cases in the country so far.
With the new addition, the total cases in India stood at 161,000. On the other hand, Maharashtra and Delhi reported the highest surge of single-day cases so far. India which was in the 10th spot surpassed Turkey and became the ninth worst-hit nation in the country with the virus.
The total fatalities in connection with the virus reached 4,706 with as much as 175 succumbed to the dreaded virus in the past 24 hours.
The recovery rate of the patients is improving gradually with more than 42% managed to recover from the fatal virus taking the count of the active cases in India to 89,987.
Telangana reported 117 fresh cases in a single day which takes the toll to 2,256 as per the health bulletin released by the officials. Four persons lost their lives to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the total fatalities to 67.
The cases of the virus in AP reached 2,841 with 54 fresh cases of the virus reported in the past 24 hours. In the past 24 hours, one patient succumbed to the virus and the total fatalities reached 59 in the state.
