In what it could be a shocker, serving Reserve Bank of India(RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das was infected with the pandemic today. He announced the news on the Microblogging site.
In his Tweet, he said he will isolate himself as per the protocols. The RBI Governor appealed to everyone who might have come in contact with him recently to get themselves tested.
"I have tested COVID-19 positive. Asymptomatic. Feeling very much alright. Have alerted those who came in contact in recent days. Will continue to work from isolation. Work in RBI will go on normally. I am in touch with all Dy. Govs and other officers through VC and telephone," his Tweet read.
India, the second worst-affected nation globally with the Covid-19 outbreak witnessed as many as 50,129 fresh pandemic infections in the past 24 hours, pushing the total caseload to 7,8,64,811.
