Touching sensitive topics in politics is nothing but playing with fire. If the topics are related to the ruling party then they have to be very careful. The former chief of the Grand Old Party Rahul Gandhi learned this the hard way and a few cases were reportedly filed against him over his remarks.

It is known that Vinayak Damodar Savarkar is a celebrated figure for the Bharatiya Janata Party as he is a strong Right-wing person. While the Congress and others dub him a coward, the BJP paints him as a national hero who faced jail term for his freedom fight.

We have earlier seen how Savarkar's pictures created a stir in politics as they appeared in posters set up in Karnataka on the eve of the Bharat Jodo Yatra started by Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi started another big controversy with his comments on Savarkar. Speaking heavily about tribal leader Birsa Munda, Rahul Gandhi said the Congress party sees him as an idol, but the BJP and RSS sess Savarkar who wrote mercy petitions to the British as an idol.

His comments started a big controversy and people are still talking about the comments. The Bharatiya Janata Party is lashing out at the Congress MP saying that he is defaming the image.

He is one of the most celebrated personalities in Maharashtra as it is his birthplace. With Shiv Sena being in power in Maharashtra the state government came down severely on Rahul Gandhi. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said they will not spare anyone who passes such comments.

The Chief Minister said that attacking Veer Savarkar is not acceptable and the government will not accept it. He also said that the people in the state will also not spare anyone who does so.

There is also a demand from the ruling faction of Shiv Sena that the Bharat Jodo Yatra should be stopped and it should not be allowed. It is also said that a case was already filed against Rahul Gandhi for his controversial comments on Veer Savarkar. The case is said to have been filed against Rahul Gandhi in Maharashtra.
