Ravindra Jadeja sends indirect hints of leading CSK?

Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is carrying a great legacy as a successful captain not only in international cricket but in the Indian Premier League(IPL) as well. Chennai Super Kings(CSK) led by Dhoni had lifted the trophy three times. A question that constantly arises in the minds of Dhoni fans and CSK supporters is who will lead the team after Dhoni and who will be the successor of Dhoni, aka Mr. Cool.

A fan page of CSK had raised the question on the same point and put up the question on Twitter. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who has been with the CSK over the years, had stunned everyone with his tweet. However, he had deleted his tweet.

"Who would be your pick to captaining the CSK team after MS Dhoni ?", the fan page tweeted. Replying to the same, Jadeja mentioned 8 as his reply. The number is carried by Jadeja on his jersey number.

Ravindra Jadeja was quick to delete his tweet. However, the CSK fans and the Twitterati acted faster than the cricketer and took a screenshot of the tweet. The tweet took social media like a storm.

The netizens say that Jadeja is confident of leading the yellow army in the IPL and he indirectly hinted the same with his tweet. Jadeja is receiving support and a few comments that are against his tweet too. Dhoni fans opined that no one can replace Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Dhoni had announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020 with an Instagram post. The post had triggered an opinion that he might also retire from the IPL after the 2020 edition of the IPL. However, the CSK management had rubbished the opinion and said he would be playing for the team for a couple of years more.

However, a few experts and observers say that 2021 might be the last IPL for Thala Dhoni and he is likely to end his glorious career in the tournament on a high note by lifting the trophy as a captain. If CSK manages to win the 2021 trophy, it marks the fourth trophy for the team.
