Former Indian National team skipper Sourav Ganguly played a big role in the rise of cricket in the country. He took over the captaincy of the team during a tough time and a lot of young players were groomed by him, who later became big stars and players.

Keeping an end to the long wait, a biopic on Sourav Ganguly aka Dada was announced today by the production house Luv Films. Taking to Twitter, the production house said that they will produce a biopic on Dada and called this an honour to take up such a big responsibility.

"We are thrilled to announce that Luv Films will produce Dada Sourav Ganguly's biopic. We are honoured to be entrusted with this responsibility and look forward to a great innings," Luv Films said in a tweet. Sourav Ganguly had retweeted the tweet of the production house.

In a tweet, BCCI Chief Sourav Ganguly said that cricket has been his life, and it's cricket that gave him the confidence to walk with head high and he crushes the journey he had in cricket. He said he is thrilled to hear the news of the biopic on him.

“Cricket has been my life, it gave confidence and ability to walk forward with my head held high, a journey to be cherished. Thrilled that Luv Films will produce a biopic on my journey and bring it to life for the big screen,” Dada said in a tweet.

Sourav Ganguly is one of the successful captains of India. Under his captaincy, India recorded wins overseas too. Winning the 2002 Natwest Series against England at the iconic Lord's is one of the memorable wins. His celebration of going shirtless from the balcony remains fresh in the minds of Indian cricket fans.

Despite taking his side to the finals of the 50 Over World Cup in 2003, Sourav Ganguly couldn't lift the World Cup trophy. Despite helping the Indian team to come out of the crisis, he lost his spot in the team. However, no one knows the reason behind this. We might know the reason for this in his biopic.
