Telangana CM KCR is all set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. This is his first meeting with Narendra Modi after nine months. He will meet Narendra Modi at 11.30 AM on Friday.
There is a great urgency on the part of KCR to meet Modi. KCR is said to be preparing to raise the issue of transferring Godavari water into Srisailam Project. KCR feels that this is a mega project that will benefit both the Telugu states. He wants the Central Government to cooperate in realising the project. KCR wants to take up this issue because once the BJP government gets the Dam Safety Bill and River Water Management Bill passed, all the projects would go under the control of the Central Government. As a result, the state governments cannot take up any works without getting a nod from the Centre. In light of this, KCR is going to Delhi to seek the cooperation of the Centre.
KCR wants the Centre to chip in and help the State government in Srisailam-Godavari linkage which is likely to cost around Rs 40000 crore. He also wants to take up several other outstanding issues with PM Modi. KCR has not been able to meet Modi for the past few months.
