Revanths masterstroke puts Congress in rethink mode
X
With one single masterstroke, Revanth Reddy has stunned the ruling TRS into silence. By exposing Kaushik Reddy's collusion with the TRS and acting quickly to throw him out of the party, Revanth has robbed the TRS of the next move. The TRS is now said to be having second thoughts about Kaushik Reddy's candidature.

Now that Kaushik Reddy was caught double-dealing with both TRS and the Congress, he cannot be projected as the party's candidate. The Congress has edged him out of the party. So, the shock value that the TRS felt Kaushik Reddy had too was robbed off.

As per the original plan of the TRS, Kaushik Reddy was to join the TRS on July 16 in the presence of KCR. However, with the latest revelations, the TRS is having second thoughts. Kaushik himself has told the media that he may not be joining the TRS on July 16. The TRS is meeting at the Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday and is likely to discuss this issue. The TRS plan has now lost the element of surprise. So, the party is having second thoughts about Kaushik Reddy. Also, this incident has hit the credibility of the ruling TRS, the party's thinking heads feel.

The TRS party's internal surveys have shown that Kaushik Reddy was being viewed by the people as a credible opponent to Eatala. Ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Koppula Eshwar and Gangula Kamalakar too have concurred with this view. The party wanted to spring a surprise by admitting Kaushik Reddy into the party. This would ensure that the Congress did not have a candidate for the bypoll. But, Revanth Reddy's mercurial moves have upset the TRS calculations. Now, Kaushik Reddy's audio clips have gone viral and his honesty is now called into question.

More importantly, the TRS campaign in Huzurabad on Tuesday was quite weak. There was little enthusiasm. On Tuesday, Hunabad MLA Satish and a few others were only seen campaigning. All the ministers were not seen on the ground on Tuesday.
