Richest Gods Reveues Show A Dip

Strange but true. The richest God is now facing fund crunch these days. Yes. The Lord of Tirupati, undoubtedly the richest deity, is witnessing a rise in spending and a steep fall in revenues. This is being attributed mainly to the slump caused by the deadly Covid 19.

The TTD's latest budget, approved on Tuesday, has shown an income of Rs 1131 crore from Hundi and other capital receipts and an expenditure of Rs 1308 crore on establishment and the human resources. During the last five years, the revenue from Hundi has gone up by at least Rs 300 crore. At the same time, the spending on human resources has been steadily going up. However, due to the Corona effect and the subsequent lockdown, there has been considerable dip in the hundi collections.

Interestingly, a staggering Rs 75 crore is being spent towards the pension fund for the retired employees. The TTD estimates that it may have to spend up to Rs 1305 crore for the human resources, which includes fulltime, part-time and outsourced employees.
