Players sustaining injuries is a part and parcel of playing sports. Sometimes the injuries get bigger and players have to miss big events. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah are examples of this. They could not be a part of the T20 World Cup due to injuries and team India paid the price for this.

Team India which suffered a big blow by losing the first ODI against Bangladesh has another to worry about now. Captain Rohit Sharma injured himself while fielding and left the field. He was rushed to the hospital due to the injury he sustained.

After losing the toss India was put to bowl first. While fielding, Rohit Sharma injured himself. In just the second over of the innings, he sustained an injury. Mohammed Siraj's delivery went for an outside edge of Bangladesh player Mohammad Anamul Haque and went towards Rohit Sharma.

Everyone felt that Rohit Sharma can grab the catch and will send Anamul to the pavilion. But he dropped the catch. As if that was not enough Rohit Sharma sustained an injury. His thumb was hurt and blood came out of his injury.

Rohit Sharma was rushed to the nearby hospital facility for the required treatment. After leaving the field he was taken to the hospital and underwent some scans. The cricket governing body in India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) shared an update on his injury.

The cricket body said that Rohit Sharma was assessed by the medical team and he went for the scanning."Update: India Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He has now gone for scans," BCCI said.

Now there is no information on the severity of the injury and how long it will take for Hitman Rohit Sharma to recover. This year has been a very bad one for the Cricket team. The Men In Blue was knocked out of the Asia Cup after suffering defeats in the early stage of matches.

Coming to the recent T20 World Cup, India went to the semis and lost the semis. India lost the match by 10 wickets as the bowlers could not put pressure on the English Team.
