Rohit Sharma to lead India in his maiden series as Skipper

The Newly-appointed white-ball captain of Indian team Rohit Sharma is all set to lead the Men in Blue in the maiden series after he took over the captaincy. Under his captaincy, team India will play an ODI series and T20 at home. The BCCI had already announced the final squad for the series.
The forthcoming West Indies tour of India for a white-ball series will mark the new era of Hitman Rohit Sharma as the skipper. In the squad, ace-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin lost a spot and was not picked for the West Indies series.
The upcoming series is going to be a perfect vehicle for the comeback of chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav, after a long gap, he was allowed to play for the country. He was selected for the ODI series and Chahal was picked for the T20 series.
Kuldeep was picked paving way for his comeback after several questions were raised on the inability of India's spin attack to pick wickets in the middle overs in South Africa which made the difference and India lost both series eventually.
Batsman Deepak Hooda, who plays for the Rajasthan franchise in the IPL received a spot in the team and spinner Ravi Bishnoi was taken into the team.
Keeping the future needs in the team, new players were given a chance, while the senior speedsters Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami were given a rest. Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan were preferred by the BCCI. Avesh Khan is a part of the ODI and T20 series.
Swing King Bhuvneshwar Kumar also received a call from the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) after a long time. He was selected in the T20 series against West Indies. Due to injuries, he skipped many series and we get to see him in the Blue jersey in the series.
Stylish batsman KL Rahul Who led India in absence of Rohit Sharma was selected for the T20 and ODI series. However, he will join the squad from the second ODI as he will miss the first ODI. All-rounder Hardik Pandya was not selected as he is yet to recover from his injury.
