The much-awaited second leg of the Indian Premier League(IPL) started recently. The 2021 edition of the tournament was suspended mid-way due to the Coronavirus fear. The scare caused by the pandemic is not over yet as a player had tested positive for the virus.

The Orange Army Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) were scheduled to lock horns today for the match. However, SRH player T. Natarajan was declared positive for the virus hours ahead of the match.

The SRH team took to Twitter to share the news of Natarajan testing Covid positive. Saying that the speedster is in a quarantine facility currently, the franchise had wished for a speedy recovery of the player.

The infection was detected at the RT-PCR tests conducted for the players as per the protocols. The news is a big setback for the team as the speedster has been an integral part of the team and played a big role in crucial matches. Seeing his constant performance in IPL, he was given a chance in the Indian national team. He made an impressive debut against mighty Australia during India’s tour of Australia.

"T Natarajan has tested positive for COVID-19, and is presently in isolation. We wish you a swift and full recovery, Nattu,” SunRisers Hyderabad tweeted confirming the news.

The team management had also identified six people as the close contacts of Natarajan. All six people were identified and shifted to the quarantine facility respectively. The six people include Vijay Shankar.

Despite the Corona scare in the SRH camp, one development brings a cheer among the camp as the rest of the squad were declared negative of the respiratory disease with the Corona tests confirming the same.

2019 World Cup member Vijay Shankar, SRH manager Vijay Kumar, physio Shyam Sundar J, net bowler Periyasamy Ganesan, logistics manager Tushar Khedkar, and doctor Anjana Vannan are the close contacts of Natarajan.

Clearing the airs on the commencement of the game, the IPL governing Council made it clear that there will be no changes in the match and the timings and the game will be played as per the earlier schedule.
