Sabitha Indrareddy Suffers Loss Of Face

Minister for Education Sabitha Indrareddy is clearly the biggest loser in the just-concluded GHMC elections. While other ministers like Talasani and former ministers like Padmarao Goud too suffered some losses, it is Sabitha Indrareddy who suffered the worst rout.
Two divisions from her constituency Maheshwaram – Saroornagar and RK Nagar - are part of the GHMC. Chief Minister KCR has given the responsibility of these two divisions to Sabitha. The minister worked hard and personally campaigned for the TRS. Yet, the party lost both seats. In the RK Nagar, sitting BjP corporator Radha Dheeraj Reddy has retained her seat and the Sabitha's attempts to unseat her proved futile. In Saroornagar too, the TRS candidate was trounced by BJP's A Anjani Srivani.
In the past too, these divisions have spurned Sabitha. In 2015 GHMC elections, Sabitha, who was then in the Congress, lost both the seats – one to BJP and the other to TRS. Even earlier, the TDP defeated Sabitha's nominees in 2009.
