No smuggler or bandit would have troubled the governments the way Veerappan did. He established his umpire in the forests and ruled the areas for over three long decades. During the period, Veerappan created a ruckus and killed many, including the forest officers. He even kidnapped politicians and film stars to demand big amounts from the government. His elder brother was also a bandit.
Veerappan's elder brother Madhaiyan, a former bandit breathed his last due to a cardiac arrest. Convicted in many cases, Madhiyan has been in jail for over three decades. He passed away while undergoing treatment, reports say.
As per the information, Veerappan's elder brother, who was found guilty in many murder cases was sent to jail by the court. For the past 35 years, he has been facing jail and the court allowed him to visit a hospital facility given his health condition.
Though he was admitted to a hospital facility, his age did not permit the treatment and he reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest. It is said that he breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital in Salem.
Along with his brother Veerappan, Madhaiyan was also a bandit and took part in many killings. Mainly, he killed a few forest officers when they tried to stop the sandalwood smuggling, which is the main income source of Veerappan and co.
After gathering pieces of evidence to prove Madhaiyan guilty in murder cases, the cops produced him before a court and the court slapped him with a jail sentence. As a result, he has been observing jail sentences for over three decades.
