The Andhra Pradesh government, which had decided to cancel Class 10 and Intermediate exams earlier took a key decision on reopening the schools across the state at a crucial meeting chaired by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

CM Jagan called for a meeting to take a call on schools reopening and conducting the classes. State Education Minister Adimukapu Suresh and a few key officials took part in the review meeting. The government had decided to reopen the schools across the state from the 16th of August.

While the schools will be reopened from August 16th, the government has decided to commence the online classes from the 12th of July. Online classes became a new normal for students and parents since 2020.

The one-month time left for the reopening for the schools will be used by the concerned officials to wrap up the works of the 'Naadu-Nedu' scheme, the initiative launched by Jagan to improve the infrastructure at the state-run schools.

Though the reopening date of the schools across the state has been fixed, the Andhra Pradesh government is yet to take a call on when to reopen the other educational institutions like colleges. The government is expected to make an announcement in this regard soon.

While the other states in the country haven't announced the reopening of the educational institutions and restarting the physical classes, Andhra Pradesh took a call on reopening the schools.

The Andhra Pradesh government, which was strong on its decision to go ahead with the conduction of Class 10 and Intermediate examinations took a U-turn and announced the cancellation of the exams.
