Senior bureaucrat slighted at AP Vanijya Utsav

AP Government's investment promotion extravaganza Vanijya Utsav left a bitter taste in the mouth of state government's advisor and former bureaucrat Ajaya Kallam. Not only was protocol not followed for him, but he was made to sit in the second row. This is not in consonance with his rank.

As a government advisor, Ajeya Kallam holds cabinet rank and is entitled to sit in the front row. But the officials of the industries department asked him to sit in the second row. A visibly upset Kallam refused to go on to the state when invited.

The meet was organised to invite investments into the state. Speaking on the occasion, chief minister YS Jagan said that experts have gone up by 19.43 per cent in the last two years. He said that the total exports from the state stood at Rs 1.23 lakh crores. He said the state ranked fourth in terms of exports. He further added that as many as 10 mega projects were set up in the state with an investment of Rs 20390 crore.

However, the government was silent about the migration of Amararaja batteries to Chennai. It did not also mention how the Reliance and Lulu group have returned the lands given to them and went back.
