Senior character artist formally joins AP BJP earlier today

As an unexpected development ahead of the much-awaited by-election in the temple city Tirupati, noted Tollywood actress and comedian Hema donned the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) shawl today.
The character artiste met the President of the BJP party for the state of Andhra Pradesh Somu Veerraju earlier today and joined the party today.
Hema's interest in politics has started back in 2014. She had formally joined the Samaikya Andhra Party floated by the former Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy.
She had managed to get a party ticket from Kiran Kumar Reddy and contested the general elections in 2014. The elections remained a big embarrassment for the actor, with Hema losing the election by a big margin.
Again in 2019, Hema has joined the YSRCP party in the presence of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Now, she is likely to take part in a campaign program for the BJP for the forthcoming polls.
BJP had made it a habit in welcoming noted faces from various industries and giving them party tickets. World Cup-winning player Gautam Gambhir, senior Bollywood hero Sunny Deol were made Lok Sabha members in 2-19 after they joined the BJP party.
