Seniors feel Pattabhi issue will boomerang on TDP

Is there a difference of opinion among the TDP seniors and Chandrababu Naidu over the way the Pattabhi incident was dealt with? It appears so. Several seniors feel that Pattabhi's comments were uncalled for and were in bad taste. They are of the opinion that these comments would boomerang on the TDP.
Chandrababu is said to have encouraged Pattabhi to hit Jagan way too below the belt and attack with expletives. The idea was to rouse passions and create tension among the two major political formations. Chandrababu did succeed in making Pattabhi speak highly abusive language. His estimate proved correct when the Jagan supporters attacked the TDP offices. But, he did not bargain for the YSRCP publicity counter offensive . Now Jagan has cleverly gained sympathy over the use of a particular expletive by Pattabhi.
Several senior TDP leaders, however, felt that Pattabhi has crossed the limits of decency. They also felt that abusing Jagan's mother was uncalled for. They have opined that Chandrababu has fallen into the trap of Pattabhi. They reportedly advised Chandrababu to ensure that the fallout does not boomerang on the TDP itself.
This section of the TDP is strongly of the opinion that that the best way to counter the YSRCP was to attack its failures in the programmes and policies. Personal attacks will only boomerang, they reportedly told Chandrababu Naidu. They also pointed out that the bandh call given by Chandrababu did not yield the desired result. They feel that the party will get traction over the failures of the ruling party. The people would not be interested in issues such as the one that Pattabhi espoused.
