Should YCP Leaders Need Home Work For Gadapa Gadapaku Program?

Things have changed rapidly for the ruling YSRCP in the three years. The ruling party recorded a landslide victory by winning as many as 151 MLA seats in the 2019 general polls. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's party crushed the grand old Telugu Desam Party and pushed it into a big political crisis.

But that was past. Currently, the ruling party is facing severe criticism from people due to various issues. Sensing a danger that the criticism could impact the winning chances of the party in the next polls, YSRCP started a new program Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam. Under the door-to-door campaign, the legislators will meet the people in their respective constituencies and make them understand the schemes the government is implementing for them.

Though the ruling party started the campaign to meet the people, the government is facing back-to-back shocks as people are pointing their fingers at the government on various issues. Irrespective of the level of the legislators, they are facing the heat from the people.

Forget about making the people understand the welfare schemes, the legislators are getting an opportunity to know the public pulse. Most of the time, people are complaining about the rise in taxes and the growing prices of commodities.

As of now, a few legislators, including Cabinet Ministers faced the heat from the public while participating in the Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam. The issue reached a point where the majority of the legislators are not ready to conduct the program as they have no answers to the questions shot by the public.

The legislators not showing interest to participate in the program reached Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. This made him angry and he made it clear that those who want to get a party ticket should meet the public and those who participated in the program will only get the party ticket.

Forget about the common legislators, state Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath also faced the heat. When he participated in the Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam program, a woman made it tough for the Finance Minister. When he tried to make the woman understand the money they get under the welfare schemes, the woman replied to the Minister about what the government is doing with the schemes by taking money from them.

Looking at all these experiences, it appears like the YSRCP legislators need some homework before attending the Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam program so that they can reply to the questions shot by people.
