The special Shramik train carrying 1,532 Migrant passengers was set off from Hubli of Karnataka to Darbhanga of Bihar as part of shifting the migrant workers to their native places.

The migrant workers who were on board went through thermal screening and tests for the dreaded virus before coming to the Railway Station and all of them observed social distancing norms and wore face masks.

This is the second Shramik train that shifted migrant workers to their native places in recent times. Earlier a special train with 1,578 migrant passengers departed from Bengaluru to Balasore of Odisha.

The Shramik trains are special trains run by the IRCTC to shaft the migrant workers and other people who were stranded in other places with imposing the nationwide lockout. To date across India, the Indian Railways have successfully moved over 30 lakh stranded people.
