Tamilisai Soundararajan is one among the five newly appointed governors announced by President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday. Appointment of this BJP's Tamil Nadu Unit Chief as the Governor of Telangana was unexpected. Suddenly, Telugu People are curious to know who is Tamilisai Soundararajan.
Not many knew that Tamilisai is a Doctor. Within short period after joining BJP, She reached the highest level in Tamil Nadu State Unit. Today, She was appointed as the new Governor for India's youngest state.

Tamilisai was born on June 2nd, 1961 in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District. She pursued MBBS in Madras Medical College and did PG in Gynacology at MGR University. Later, She learnt Sonology in Canada and Therapy in FET. She worked as Assistant Professor in Ramachandra Medical College and also served as Visiting Consultant in few Hospitals.

While she was doing MBBS, Tamilisai served as a President of Students Association. Her Father was a Congressman. Still, She preferred joining the Saffron Party which doesn't have much presence in Tamil Nadu. In 1999, Tamilisai was Secretary for health-wing of South Chennai. She became general secretary of Statewide Medical-wing in 2001. In 2005, She was appointed as All India Co-Convenor. Tamilisai became BJP General Secretary in 2007 and BJP Vice President in 2010. In 2013, She was appointed as BJP National General Secretary.

Tamilisai's Husband Soundararajan is also a Doctor. He is the head of the department for Nephrology in Savitha Varsity. He is also serving as Nephrology senior consultant in Apollo Hospital. Soundararajan is acting as Governing Council Member of Indian Council Of Medical Research.

In electoral politics, Tamilisai faced defeat contesting in Assembly and Lok Sabha Polls twice. Appointment as the Governor of Telangana marks a new innings in her life.
