Spouses Of H-1b Visa Can Now Work Without Permit!

The current administration in the United States is following a friendly approach when it comes to visas for immigrants. Making the immigration process even hassle-free, the spouses of H-1B Visa holders were given Automatic Work Authorisation. This enables the immigrants to get employment opportunities more smoothly. India makes up a good percentage of Asian ethnic in the United States.

The automatic work authorisation is a response to the class-action suit that was filed against the immigration policy that restricts those who hold H-4 and L-2 type of visas from taking up jobs in the country till the work permit lands in their hand.

Unhappy with going through a lot of issues if getting employment opportunities, the spouses of the immigrants had moved a court with a class-action lawsuit against the immigration process. The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) had filed the lawsuit.

A member of the AILA had listed out the difficulties the immigration spouses are facing with the immigration process. He also shed light on how a barricade was put up that stops the immigrant spouses from getting the jobs that offer high pay. They don't have any proper reason to lose their jobs too, he said.

The representatives of the American Immigration Lawyers' Association are happy that they can bring a change in the process, that in turn benefits the spouses of immigrants who are eager to work but could not due to the immigration process.

The work authorisation brings a big benefit for the immigrant spouses, the Indian-Americans largely. With this, the spouses of the immigrants can make themselves available for work and apply for opportunities without having to submit the employment authorisation document. To make the required changes to benefit the immigrant spouses, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policy was reversed.

The change in the USCIS is a game-changer in the visa process as the time it used to take for the visa applications to get processed was cut short largely and the gaps the immigrant spouses have in work will also be reduced. The spouses of H-1B and L-2 are the major beneficiaries of the new changes.
