Sujana vs Purandeshwari in AP BJP

Who is going to be the next president of the BJP in Andhra Pradesh? Which community will get the post? There is a strong buzz that the party needs a non-Kapu as the president as it has already joined hands with the Jana Sena, which is Kapu dominated. If the party gets a Kapu president, it will lead to reverse polarisation and would harm the prospects of the party in the state.So, the party wants a non-Kapu as the state president to establish some kind of caste balance.
Highly placed sources say that the party national leadership is planning to have a Kamma leader as the party state president. It could either be senior party hand Daggubati Purandeshwari or industrialist-Rajya Sabha MP Sujana Chowdary. Purandeshwari has been in the BJP and has close links with the RSS. Of late, Sujana Chowdary is trying to get pally with the BJP and RSS establishment. So, the fight could be between these two. The party feels that as the TDP gets increasingly weakened, the Kamma community, which tasted power all these years, will have to get closer to the BJP, which is in power at the Centre. So, having a Kamma state president makes sense for the BJP.
The party feels that Kanna Lakshminarayana can be suitably rehabilitated in AP and a Kamma should be make the president. Post an alliance with the Jana Sena, the Kapus will look at Pavan Kalyan as a leader rather than Kanna. So, the strategy appears to be that Pawan will get Kapu votes, while the powerful Kammas can be wooed through a Kamma state unit president.
