Supreme Court Makes Serious Comments On Governors!
X
The Governor System is a responsible position in the state. As the Central government appoints the Governors, there is a possibility of friction. Of late such examples are increasing, unfortunately. We have seen how things are going on in Telangana. Kerala and West Bengal are also examples of that.

The Supreme Court has made some interesting comments on Governors. The bench said that Governors should be cautious as their actions can be costly. Saying that asking for a trust vote might result in bringing down the government, the Apex Court said the Governor cannot be obvious.

The Political crisis in Right-wing Shiv Sena had reached the Supreme Court and the five-judge bench led by Chief Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud heard the petition. During the arguments, the bench made some strong remarks about the Governors.

Referring to the Shiv Sena Crisis, the bench opined that Governors should be cautious and that they cannot be a part of topping the governments that are elected. The bench asked what made the Governor call for a trust vote.

If we recall what happened in Maharashtra, the comments made by the Supreme Court make us realise its concerns. It is a fact that Shiv Sena was dealing with a rebel camp within the outfit. Adding fuel to this, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari called for a trust vote and this made Uddhav Thackeray resign. If not for the trust vote, Uddhav would have been in power for some more time.

When the rebel leaders were troubling the Shiv Sena party, the Governor called for a trust vote. No one understands why the Governor called for that. Many say that the Governor calling for a trust vote was a bigger blow to Maha Vikas Aghadi(Shiv Sena, Congress, and NCP) than the rebel leaders. Now the Supreme Court also said the same and expressed its concerns about Governors indirectly becoming the reason for toppling the governments.
