The filing of nominations has begun in Andhra Pradesh on Monday. But, the TDP has not yet announced names of its candidates for at least over 30 seats. What more, candidates have also not been decided for several MP seats. Despite a slew of review meets and continuous exercise for the last month-and-a-half, the candidate finalization is still in limbo for the TDP.
Interestingly, there are several issues that need to be sorted out before the names are cleared. There is the question of severe anti-incumbency. There are objections to the official candidates. In fact, Chandrababu needs to speed up on the issue as the deadline for filing of nominations is just eight days. Of these, there are two government holidays. This means that only five to six days are available for filing of nominations. The candidates will have to work out lot of nitty gritty and even fix the auspicious muhurtams for filing of nominations.
Many say that the real problem is not with the announcement of the list. It actually starts after the list is out. Those who do not get the ticket might rebel. Do not be shocked if some stand as rebel candidates. So, all eyes are on the second list that Chandrababu has to announce sooner or later.
